Shelbie holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College where she double majored in Art & Visual Culture and Classical & Medieval Studies. During her tenure at Bates, she was a versatile player on the midfield and defensive lines. She was a four-year starter for the Bobcats and served as team captain in her junior and senior seasons. Shelbie received NESCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship recognition in her senior season, as well as NESCAC All-Academic (2016-2018) and ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA NCAA D3 National Academic Squad (2015-2018) recognitions. Outside of the classroom and off the field, Shelbie served as a Junior Advisor for Residence Life, Co-President of the Special Olympics Club, Chair and NESCAC Representative of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, in addition to studying abroad in Florence, Italy the winter semester of her junior year.
Shelbie is not only entering her third season coaching for Seacoast, but is an alumna of the program. Here, she played for Coach Sarah, Coach Mel, and Coach Mike. Throughout her time at Bates, Shelbie coached for Coastal Field Hockey Club in the off-season.
Currently, Shelbie is an Assistant Project Manager for a residential real estate development company that builds high-performing and energy efficient homes and neighborhoods.
Shelbie looks forward to another competitive season and hopes to inspire the next generation
